EASTMARK

DMB Approach
DMB recognizes the importance of Eastmark and the Gateway area to the future of Mesa and the entire region, and the resulting responsibility to develop a carefully conceived land plan. As part of the planning and entitlement process, DMB conducted an extensive community outreach program, with the goal of soliciting community opinions and priorities. This input provided important direction for the planning teams at DMB and for the City of Mesa.

In 2010, the City of Mesa and DMB Associates, Inc. were honored to receive the Arizona Planning Association award for the Eastmark Master Plan. “The Committee found The Eastmark Master Plan developed by DMB Associates to be exceptionally comprehensive, forward thinking and complete with regards to technical detail,” according to the Arizona Planning Association’s judging panel.

As this Eastmark project continues to develop, DMB is committed to working with the City of Mesa and the local community to create a center of regional importance at the Eastmark.

Importance for Mesa
Eastmark and the Gateway area are understood by DMB, as well as City and regional leaders, to be one of the most significant properties remaining to be developed in the Mesa area. As the real estate market began to recover, the City of Mesa has actively pursued employers for the region.

President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), Barry Broome, said of the area, “It is one of the most important and strategic growth areas for the future economic and community development of the City of Mesa, the East Valley and the State of Arizona. Comprising the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, ASU Polytechnic campus and the 3,200-acre Eastmark, the Gateway area will be a catalyst for Mesa’s future as a model of 21st century desert urbanism, a city rich in sustainable commerce, industry and professional business ventures complemented by high-quality education, entertainment, lifestyle and residential developments. With visionary planning, the Gateway area is uniquely positioned to become part of the global economic phenomenon wherein airport cities serve as the center of business in fast-moving, globally networked economies.”
